The book was first published in 1978 and has been reprinted every year since then, It will come to you with the list of my favorite recipes. I have 2 of the same books and my other one has all my notes on it. One of the few titles that "live" in my kitchen, not on a bookshelf.

Junior League cookbooks can be a mixed bag. But generally keep in mind that they represent a community's best cooks showing off for attention.

As far as the COLORADO CATCHE COOKBOOK, a new cook will appreciate the simplicity of such great recipes as Marinated Grilled Flank Steak, Chicken Durango, Pedro's Delight, whereas an older chef or one who cans and preserves excess summer crop will get a chuckle from "JEZEBEL", a chutney served with ham. It includes apple jelly and peach jelly as well as horseradish and mustard. hehe

What sets this Junior League cookbook apart from others? First is the size [9 x 7.25] for one. Then the diversity of recipes, including a whole chapter on fish and game. Did I fail to mention a delightful chapter of recipes from Colorado restaurants? There is also a chapter of recipes for PICNIC and CAMPING, and a chapter of POTPOURRI [including six recipes for homemade mustard]. No wonder this book receives great reviews.
