Very good read. Very suspenseful!

Fairly good, exception being----descriptions don't have to be given for every article of clothing they wear or every morsel of food they eat, just takes up pages and pages to include all that and not necessary--overall the story was okay

"Colder Than Ice" picks up where "Thicker Than Water" left off. Madman, Mordecai Young escaped justice and death in the previous book by wearing body armor in a showdown with police and former members of his Young Believers cult, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Marcum and Julie (Jewel) Jones. Now going by the name Beth Slocum, Lizzy has moved to rural Vermont to hide from her former lover, but he's tracked her down, determined to take away everything and everyone she cares about before killing her.
Enter Joshua Kendall, the ATF agent behind the bullet that nearly killed Beth (Lizzy) 17 years earlier in a government raid on the Young Believers compound. Josh has been guilt-ridden ever since, believing he'd killed an innocent woman and it's destroyed most of his life. He lost his wife and son when his marriage went south and his job when the government needed a scapegoat. Now running his own business as a bodyguard for high-profile clients, he's called in to protect Beth who's being used by the government to draw out Mordecai Young. Josh makes it his life's mission to protect Beth at any cost when he learns that she's the girl he thought he'd killed. But he must do this without letting on that he's the man who shot her years earlier because Beth doesn't trust the government or bodyguards since both have nearly gotten her killed.
Cameo appearances by Dawn, Julie, & Sean McKenzie; and Cassie Jackson from "Thicker Than Water."

Was good.
Excellent!
great 2nd book in triology.
Good, action packed, continues the story of the Young Believers compound from a different perspective.
Lock your door
she must stand alone to face a fear that is colder than ice.
Easy read thriller with a creative plot and interesting characters
Enjoyed reading a differant genre from Maggieshe shows here she can write more then just horror.
Very Good book. Maggie Shayne is great writer. Elizabeth Marcum survived a raid on the cult her parents were in; She was shot by Joshua Kendall a government agent, who thinks he killed this innocent child. She was relocated and given a new identity but the cult leader is now after her, Josh is sent to protect her... Why is Mordecai Young the cult leader after her??? You'll have to read the book to find out.
Love Maggie Shayne! Great author.
Second in Shayne's Cult series. Well developed characters, nice continuation of story from first book. Lots of suspense and superb angsty love story.
intriguing plot, with some romance too.
A good, quick read. As good or better than Thicker than Water.
So great! I loved the whole series!

It's okay, but not the greatest book I've ever read.
least liked of this series
Seventeen years ago, agent Joshua Kendall was part of a raid on a cult-like group called The Believers. His bullet killed an innocent girl and he has lived with guilt ever since.
Elizabeth Marcum was that girl. She survived the bullet from that botched raid and now lives in hiding from the cult leader, Mordecai Young, who has eluded capture all these years.
Josh was fired from his government job and now owns a private security firm. Josh is sent to protect Elizabeth and on meeting he realizes immediately who she is. Can he keep his secret and keep her alive at the same time?
Fast paced, tense, good story.

I LOVED THIS BOOK, DIFFERENT BUT REALLY GOOD. I USUSALLY READ ONLY THE VAMPIRES, AND MAGIC ONES. I AM GLAD THAT I TOOK ACHANCE AND READ THIS ONE.
A great thriller...A former government agent discovers that he did not accidentally kill a girl years ago...he's now assigned to keep her alive from the evil that almost caused her death before.
Seventeen years ago, Elizabeth Marcum was badly wounded when the government raided the compound of her husband and cult leader Mordecai Young. Against all odds, she survived and escaped Young's clutches. Now living in Vermont as Beth Slocum, she's a different woman.
Elizabeth is strong, confident and prepared for when Young finally decides to come after herwhich is fortunate, as the agent in charge of the case is using her as bait without her knowledge. He's also sent security specialist Joshua Kendall to protect her. This is the last thing Elizabeth wants, especially when she learns Joshua is the man who fired the bullet that nearly took her life.
Tense and occasionally frightening, Colder Than Ice is a page-turner in the best sense. The villain Mordecai is one of the most chilling ever.

Elizabeth Marcum was that girl. She survived the bullet from the botched raid and now lives under a new identity in rural Vermont, hiding from the cult leader who has managed to elude capture all these years. But she's tired of running, tired of hiding. If Mordecai Young tracks her down, so be it.
