Famed Alaska Musher finds a decades-old skeleton entombed in a crumbling wall of her basement along with the necklace of a victim of a brutal serial killer. Great series I have just discovered and hope to read more of Sue Henry's book soon.

I love this whole series! So interesting to learn about Alaska, mushing, and sled dogs, while solving a mystery with Jessie and Alex.

Unfortunately for me, this is like #9 in the series and I hate when I read a series out of order. However, this was a great book with plenty of twists and turns, interesting characters, suspense and thriller. There have been a string of women who are murdered then dumped along the Knik River. The perpetrator sends roses to his intended victim (sometimes, not always) and we first get a look inside this guy's head. Jessie is living in a Winnebago while her new log home is being built. After digging out the basement, she finds the skeleton of a body buried about 25 years ago. She also received a single red rose, three times, chilling her. Her friends insist she not stay alone and Jessie's fierce independence may be her undoing. While helping the state trooper, Phil Becker, she is in an airplane that is forced to crash. She has serious injuries from the crash and a few weeks later, she sustains even further injuries that require extensive surgery on her knee. I was quite surprised to discover who the bad guy was which is always a joy to be fooled like that. I definitely intend to read the rest of the series in order.

I really enjoy the Jesse Arnold series and this is one of the best of the series. Jesse races sled dogs in Alaska. While building a new cabin, Jesse unearths an old skeleton. Is it related to the disappearance of a local young woman? (Of course!) Jesse doesn't usually have to deal with serial killers, but this time she does. I really enjoyed this one.
Jessie Arnold in another well written mystery set in Alaska.
Really enjoy reading this series by Sue Henry. The characters are well developed and become friends by the end of the book. The Details of the scenery, locations building materials are very well researched. And most of the books have a twist at the end. Highly recommend these books.
