I debated between a 1 or 2 rating but what difference would it make

James Patterson is putting his name on books for a selling point (I think), I don't think he wrote any part of this one.

I did not finish this one--it is way way too long and very very confusing, it takes forever to get to the 'twist' that you know is coming but yet when it gets there you already have it figured out (there were only 2 choices for what direction it would take)

I felt sorry for Michael because of what he was going through and as you read and find out more it becomes so confusing and unbelievable that after the 'twist' I quit

I got it from the library (thank goodness I didn't pay a dime for it)and I had the large print version and it is 744 pages and I think just the regular print is over 400 pages and almost 150 chapters? what???? that is ridiculous and after reading just the part I read it could've been cut down by ALOT! There is so much description in this taking up pages and pages that could've been left out

I'm giving it only the 1* because of the confusion and length and unnecessary descriptions that take up too many pages

One of the best by Patterson I have read in a long while!
Though super long at 555 pages, I rushed through it quickly as it was hard to put down and turn out the light at bedtime. The very short chapters, typical of Patterson, also make it a quick read.
Different than most serial killer stories, we seem to know early on who the perpetrator is, but the motive remains elusive for a while. The psychology involved in this tale is quite surprising. And we are reminded that not all âhelpers' are good people. Multiple twists in the second half of the book keep the suspense up right til the end.
I felt the book's title was quite misleading and the authors should have put more effort into finding a more appropriate one.
