Interesting story of the life of one of the greatest college football coaches. Bryant played in the first football game he ever saw, and later had spikes attached to his only pair of shoes to play on the school team. Raised mainly by his mother, his family very poor, Bryant coached young men eager to play in exchange for the opportunity to attend college. Many of these men became doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc. and were forever appreciative to the 'Bear' who helped them acquire an education they/their families could have never afforded.
