I have been a big fan of this series, but Close Knit Killer is missing a lot of the things that I have enjoyed about these books - a discussion about a knitting project, interpersonal relationships, and an interesting mystery. I get the feeling that the author is struggling at this point to fill a book. We know Kelly needs caffeine, and that Pete makes an excellent breakfast. If you take out the references to those two things in this book, you end up with about 3 chapters of a pretty uninteresting mystery in which all of the main characters are basically observers. I'm sad to say this book was a big disappointment.

I have always loved this series, but this book seems stilted in the writing mode. Too much of using each others names in a two way conversation, the flow isn't even. Enjoying the new addition of Cassie, but somehow the flow of the story just isn't there in this one. The mystery wasn't hard to solve, but I read so many that's not a big surprise, but I don't like the use of people's names in a two person conversation. It happened several times and it creates a break in the flow of the story and conversation. Seems she wanted to fill space. Just a guess. Too much of Kelly and her coffee, and her eating habits, space filler for sure. We, who have read this series from the beginning, know about Pete's good food, but really, enough already. I'm looking forward to the next one, hoping it gets better and back to the old style. Not sure what happened with this one. It sounds almost like the two stories could be one. But, since I'm not a writer, who knows?. Anyway, I enjoy her stories and hope they continue in a more even flow. Did the publishers get in a hurry and push, push, push???????

I have stuck by this series from the first, but find it more and more disappointing. It has become static with no growth in the characters and the mystery was such a small part of the novel. I don't think I will be reading any more of the series.

This is the newest installment of this series Not one of the strongest ones of the series. But liked "visiting" with the folks again.
