I truly enjoyed this boots on the ground account of what it's like to work at an amazon shipping facility, a call center, and a McDonald's. Guendelsberger doesn't pull any punches describing the physical pain (amazon), emotional stress (call center), and occasionally horrible conditions (McDonald's) experienced by low wage workers in America today. She addresses the immediate issues but also takes a macro level look at what gives rise to the inherent hardships in these jobs, like intentional understaffing. Her conclusion section also explained why low wage workers might choose a leader who does not necessarily provide for their best interests.
