I thought the first 30 or so pages were a little slow but suddenly the book gripped me and I could hardly put it down. You follow the 3 main characters at 3 different times, switching back and forth throughout the book, from their childhoods to adulthood. They have promised to keep a terrible secret and we find out the consequences by the end of the book. Very well-written, very haunting. I found myself waking up during the night and pondering it's mysteries.
