Fairly good story of what if the Native Americans had done things differently. Reasonably good, somewhat possible but not a great work. Worth the read but not one I'll go back to.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer - this is a good alternate history book, but not great. Certainly well researched and an intriguing "what if?" tale. A weak spot is that some of the action and character development is depicted after the fact and described by minor characters. With a sweeping epic this is probably to be expected, but I still found it irksome. More annoying is that the author often draws attention to the fact that this is alternate history. I didn't need to be told that from the characters' point of view, it was distracting.
