An interesting, eclectic collection of essays about western history. Don't expect a lot of info about cleopatra :)

VERY interesting, not overly-scientific, essays about the universe and the world in which we live. Even a non-science person like me enjoyed reading these pieces, though I did have to not read them in succession, but one a day. Not light reading in any sense of the word, but fascinating observations and historical references.
