Detective Will Trent is on an undercover assignment. He's searching for a suspect in a long-ago murder of a cop. His quarry is working at Fort Knox, where Jack just got a job. Now all he has to do is get some DNA from the suspect...Jack Reacher. Jack is on his own mission at Fort Knox. He is looking for evidence of a criminal ring working out of this location. Eventually the two band together to bring down a criminal organization.
This novella puts together Will Trent and Jack Reacher. I liked the plot. I just wish the story had been longer. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Ever since a friend suggested Lee Child's books I've read every one of them! I love reading all about Jack Reacher's adventures, and always come away feeling entertained with a good feeling, waiting with baited breath for the next book.
This one, not so much. OK, it's a short story; I understand that. But it lacked all the excitement and that "pull-me-along", page turning, "keep me on the edge of my seat" kind of writing that I'm used to with Lee Child.
I'll have to say I'm a bit disappointed in this particular story.

I don't agree with Rob's review. First let me say that I have never read a Karin Slaughter book, but with the character, Will Trent in this book, I need to read them. They are my list to read. I have read all the Jack Reacher books. Granted this was a short story, typical Reacher. I don't have anything to compare to the other character. I really liked this book. It was way too short of a short story, but the ending leaves it open to a sequel with both characters, which I really like. I would highly recommend this book and wish these 2 authors would do more collaborations. These 2 authors work well together.
