This book teaches the very basics. If thats what you want, this book is for you, but if your wanting to get more ideas on mixing color, trying new styles, what brands to try, probly not for you. Since the book is written in the UK, some of the productus they have mentioned in the book arn't avalible in the US. Good book, just not for me. Also, some of the techniques are old fashioned looking (i.e contouring) Contouring is something that even professional make-up artists haven't figured out. Contouring your eyes actually makes them look smaller!! Instead, line your eyes with black liner, thicker at the outer corner with lots of mascara and shimmer shadow. Actually, i wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Like the liquid eye liner lesson, never, ever start the line at the inner corner, with the brush lying on your lashes, this creates a HUGE mess and gets it inside your EYE!!
Not a bad guide for someone who totally doesn't know how to apply make-up, but for someone looking to take it a step further...it doesn't go far enough. I'd recommend it for any young girl just beginning, though.
