"She was Marilyn Monroe decades before Marilyn. How movingly David Stenn has written the story of this hilarious and heartbreaking star."-Dominick Dunne

"Clara Bow is the quintessence of what the term "flapper" signifies...pretty, impudent, superbly assured, as worldly-wise, briefly-clad and hard-berled as possible."-F. Scott Fitzgerald

"It was easy for me t'cry. All I hadda do was think of home."-Clara Bow

"It's Clara. I'm in love with Clara Bow."-Gary Cooper

"A temperament that responded like a great violin. Touch her and she answered with genious."-Victor Fleming

"She was the biggest star, the biggest moneymaker in Hollywood-above Garbo, above them all. I was fascinated with her."-Louise Brooks

She was the legendary "IT" girl, the embodiment of the Roaring Twenties. She was the hottest box-office draw during Hollywood's Golden Silent Era, a time when a hundred million people went to the movies every week. She was gorgeous, sexy, and wild, someone to stir every pulse in the nation. Her numerous lovers (including Gary Cooper and Victor Fleming) shocked even the sexually promiscuous Hollywood movie colony. She was a breathtakingly talented actress who broke all the rules of Tinsel Town...until she herself was finally broken. She was only twenty five years old.
