This is a compilation of many very interesting stories, sometimes shortened, of famous Civil war authoresses. It was interesting to read what happened then and how these authoresses put that into very compelling works. Many spoke the truths of what women in America at that time faced--with the greatest loss of American soldiers of that in any war and fighting right there at the doorstep sometimes, it was a fierce time of fear and doubt cast over. The words of these authors are eloquent.
