Another case featuring our hero Pendergast working again with his best friend Vincent D'Agosta. However, there was something missing; it seems the two men didn't seem as close as they had been and Pendergast sounds like he's wasting way. He is thinner, more fragile and ghostlike than ever.
I adore this series, but this was the weakest and not as stirring or action packed as the previous books. I missed the presence of Constance who is Pendergast's solemate whether he accepts it or not.
