A wonderful read by Isabel Allende. This is a more contemporary setting compared to her historical fiction novels. It is also a book that even teens might enjoy. The story revolves around a teenaged boy who goes with his grandmother into the Amazon on a science expedition. He meets a young girl and the story centers on their adventures. A bit of fantasy and folklore. A bit of mystery to be solved. No sex -- chaste friendship and you just know there could be follow-on books. Give it a try -- I think you will like it.
