Citizens of London is one of the best written nonfiction books I ever read. Lynne Olson has the skill of a first class novelist, and yet her writing is based entirely on history and facts. She was so effective in portraying the characters around whom this historical portrait is based that I can still picture them and their personalities in my mind -- and I read the book eight years ago, and have read probably 1,000 books since. I am reading everything else she's published, but so far this is my favorite.
