This book is a great collection of short stories and chapters out of novels set in Havana, Cuba. I loved how it really managed to convey the mood and feel of Havana. It evoked nostalgia even for a person with no ties at all to Cuba. The one frustrating thing was that the book was not limited to short stories about Havana but included chapters and excerpts out of much longer novels and that was often annoying because you can't read what comes next without looking up the novel. But overall a really great, fairly compact collection of literature about the Havana of various time periods in the 19th and 20th centuries.
