A gorgeous book, perfect workmanship, stunning watercolor illustrations, tales by the greatest of the south's writers. Unfortunately, it perfectly illustrates why I dislike most short stories, esp. literary ones. They build you up just to let you down. No resolutions, just sudden stops that make one go: huh? Then what?? And you know, these stories just were not very Christmasy to boot.
