Very sweet ( pun intended) story. Made me forget I was in 75 degree weather in Florida while I was reading. I was always surprised to see there was no snow on the ground when I looked up. Lipton is a village just like I imagine small little English villages to be. Friends and family, all coming together.

Utterly charming, a perfect read around holiday time. This book is well-written, has engaging characters and a good story line with a few twists. It's a lovely escape without being sugar-coated or implausible.
The bonus for me, despite having lived and worked with Brits for years, was learning lots of new to me British phrases, terms and foods.

Another sweet story from Jenny Colgan. I didn't realize it was the second in the series, but there was no problem catching up with who people were. I did however just order the first one because I am interested in the pre-story to this book. I love her details when she describes the characters and the little towns all her books are set in. They re all so homey.
Rosie was a nurse, who nursed her now boyfriend Steohen back to health. She now operates a sweet shop that was apparently her Aunt Lillian's, who now resides in an old age home. Christmas is coming, and a tragedy strikes the small village, and as if she hasn't got enough on her mind, her entire family is flying in from Australia.
