This story was a departure for Tess Thompson; most of her stories are endearing. This one was sappy. The wedding vows were over the top. Everything is so "perfect" between the couple that the reader knows something terrible will happen.
Just because something is Christmas-themed doesn't mean the reader expects a syrupy, maudlin story. It was a gift to assign this novella a "G."
