Christmas Gifts contains two short stories by Gail Gaymer Martin and Brenda Minton. Cowboy stories aren't my thing, so I didn't read Brenda's novella.

I loved the progression of twins Holly and Ivy from little hellions to calm, loving young girls in Gail's book Small Town Christmas. Likewise, the changes Mike makes from permissive, hen-pecked dad to an assertive, yet fair father are also good. Amy didn't change so much as discover where she really wanted to be.

I also enjoyed the old-fashioned Christmas theme that is woven throughout the story. Amy teaches her students about older Christmas traditions, they make vintage Christmas tree decorations, the small group attends a Christmas celebration with a tree-lighting, caroling, and hayride, and more. The small town setting for the book adds to the Christmas spirit.

If you're looking for a quick, heartwarming Christmas read filled with vintage Christmas traditions, this is the book for you.

With thanks to author Gail Gaymer Martin for my review copy.
