Cute story, quick and easy Christmas read! I was afraid it was going to be depressing and have a sad ending, but the story never really got too deep, and there was a happy resolution.

Wonderful story that teaches us a few lessons. Started reading this book one night, and couldn't put it down until I finished the story. Melody really brings the dog to life!

Very cute, fast read, with a good message about people, animals, Christmas and not jumping to conclusions. Christian message thrown in, but not preachy, just good information about God's love for all.

I always enjoy Melody Carlson's Christmas stories, and this one was especially touching. The main character is an older widow, and the story delves into her heart and mind and the thoughts and feelings she is experiencing at Christmas. I love how the story revolves around Ralph, a stray dog. A good spiritual lesson can be learned in that we need to see people through God's eyes and not be influenced by unfounded attitudes of others.
