This is my first Kathleen Morgan book. I didn't realize it was connected to the Brides of Culdee Creek series. I don't think I missed anything by not having read the series. This was a stand alone Christmas novella that I enjoyed very much. This book introduced me to German Christmas traditions that I was unaware of. There are some German recipes included at the end.
The summary of the story pretty much lets you know what the book is about. Though it can be difficult, forgiving ourselves can be one of the hardest obstacles in life, especially when it involves love.
