Although this one was better than the first in the series it still isn't up to par. There's a lot of potential with the characters and setting, but the author hasn't manifested that potential yet. I'm not sure if I'll continue on with this series or not. There are to many great books & authors out there to waste time with ones that are only so-so.

This is the second in the Candy Shop Mystery Series. Abby Shaw has inherited Divinity Candy Shop from her Aunt Grace and is trying to live up to her aunt's hard earned reputation. Savannah Horne is back in town causing trouble for the many townsfolk who were just as happy to see her leave 20 years ago. When she ends up dead, everyone has a theory and a motive!
I found this to be better than the first. Characters are becoming more developed and the plot has more turns and more suspects. The ending however seems a little vague, however and leaves some questions unanswered. I'm looking forward to the third in the series as the books seem to get better as the characters are more fully explored.

cutesy murder, but not as good as first...although it is about chocolate which keeps you salivating through the novel. Recipes for said drool worthy concoctions in the back!

Book #2 of the Candy Shop Mysteries. I love this series and it is a fun read any time of the year. And there are candy recipes to boot. I call these type of books "fluffy murder mysteries" because there is no graphic violence or descriptions of the murder and there is nothing too heavy about the reading. A great getaway for your mind.
I really liked this book. Can't wait to start the next.

I enjoyed this book very much. I like the characters and the plot, and the constant talk of chocolate makes me want a bowl of chocolate candy next to me as I read. Lots of recipes. I like this series and usually I'm not that fond of culinary mysteries.
2nd book of series, but stands alone. Easy read
Second book in the series about Abby Shaw, amateur sleuth and new owner of the Divinity candy shop in Paradise, Colorado. If you have read "Candy Apple Dead" you have surely been waiting for this second installment!
Fun new cozy mystery series.
2nd in this series. Better than the first book. Chocolate recipes included.
2nd in the series. I liked the first book a little better than this one, but still an entertaining cozy series.
Number 2 in the series, enjoyable read. I hope there is a number 3 on the way.

The 2nd Candy Shop Mystery story. Candy recipes included in the back. I thought the second book was better than the first and I certainly like the first story in Candy Apple Dead. I am looking forward to reading the third story in Peppermint Twisted.
I love this series. it is a great book.

This is a cute series - I look forward to more of Carter's books.
In Book two of the series, Abby is hosting the yearly 3 day Confectionary Competition. Her hopes for a smooth going are ruined when the much hated Savannah Horne shows up and wins the first night of the tasting. Savannah hasn't been in town for 20 years, but when she lived there, she hurt almost everyone in some way, so when she ends up dead, there are plenty of suspects.
When Abby's cousin, Karen is a suspect, she can't leave the sleuthing to the police alone, and goes in search of the real killer, putting herself in danger.
Abby's relationship with Jawarski gets a bit deeper, but she is still afraid to get too involved, due to the betrayal of her ex husband.

Cute cozy.....characters are developing....better than the first in the series...This one centers around a candy making contest...the Tenth Annual Confectionary Competition...naturally death follows
Like the series.. like the recipes. Interesting family dynamics going on
not only is this a good mystery; it's got some yummy candy recipes.
From back: There's no use sugarcoating it--no one in Paradise can stand Savannah Horne. The former local girl is now the trophy wife of a wealthy businessman. And she's swept back into town just in time to enter Divinty's Tenth Annual Confectionary Competition--and stir up some trouble. But someone bent on sweet revenge will gurarantee that Savannah won't make it out of Paradise alive, trapping Abby in a case stickier then her gooey taffy.

I read this in only 2 days so the story line kept me interested! I just love the character of Abby!
Great read
great series
I am reading it right now. Cute 'who done it'
Fun book. It was apparently also fun to my puppy - about 1/5th of the back cover is well indented and torn by puppy teeth. I will confirm with anyone ordering this book that they are okay with that.
