I liked this book a lot better than "Unlubricated". Anyone who has lived on the edge and/or lived in New York city will appreciate this story.
From the back cover:
Orloff Trenchant is a painter who sells books on West 4th street in Manhattan and is obsessed with mastering his craft. Desperate for cash, Or agrees to take a commission no one else will touch; he has three weeks to carve a headstone for a recently deceased restauranteur- a Chinese takeout box.

This was a well-written book, but a little dark. Not death and destruction dark, but more life can be tough dark. I think it's worth reading.
