Chill Factor had more twists and turns than most of Sandra Brown's books.
Once you start it, you will not be able to stop until you are at the very unexpected ending.

A well-written thriller centering around a serial killer, the police chief's recently divorced wife, and a blizzard. Well-written characters. I enjoyed the story - some parts I guessed quickly but others eluded me until the end.
I haven't read many of Sandra Brown's books but I will check out her other books now. This book was very good, kept my interest from the start with a few surprises. I would highly recommend it for those who like a little suspense along with a good love story.

Ex honey has hard time letting go and the wife just wants to move on. She moves on and gets caught on a mountain during a blizzard and a mysterious roommate may or may not be who he says. This was a killer chiller and perfect for a weekend retreat read. I have read many Sandra Brown books, but this is one of my faves. Enjoy a cup of joe with this book.

Typical Sandra Brown page-turner! Leaves you hanging right up to the end.
A chilling thiller that keeps you wondering "who did it!"
Haven't read this book but somehow I ended up with two copies. Sandra Brown is a good writer (I actually know Sandra Brown as I taught Sunday School in TX with one of her sisters for years) and I am sure this book will be no exception. It is about 5 women missing from a mountain town in NC.
Good book. Lots of surprizing plot twists and turns!
This one made me stay up and finish it in a couple of nights it was so good.
It was interesting, there was some really good suspense. I enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed this novel. Lots of twist and turns make predicting the ending nearly impossible. Another great read from Sandra Brown.
Another great Sandra Brown novel. Five women are missing and Lilly must decide if she can trust Ben after they are trapped in a cabin during a storm. Are is he the killer?

Had this one pretty much figured out in the first 100 or so pages....and never was able to like most of the characters. Brrr....cold.
Good read....enjoyable.
No one can write a twisty mystery like Brown. Great story.
Easy read with suspense and romance mixed together
Chill Factor is alright. It is not a gread read, but it is not completely boring either. It just seemed that the story line was predictable..... I knew exactly what was going to happen early on in the story. :-(
I do like Sandra Brown's writing style, and like here characters and plot.... this one was just alittle too easy to figure out. And once you know what is going to happen the rest of the book is boring.

Richly flawed characters. Very enjoyable. Had no idea who did it until the last few pages.
Great book, keeps you interested
A great romance full of surprises and a serial killer. Good Book!
Sizzling action, somewhat beyond belief at the end, but good suspenseful read
Thrills up until the end. There are no characters that I found wonderful, but I found that it wasn't necessary in order to rad a good story. Read it in one day on the beach a good thriller.
I have to say This has been the best book so far! Wow a must read.
560 pages? why?
I found the first 100 pages so boring it almost put me to sleep so didn't pursue the rest of the book, just flipped to the back and got the killer that was enough for me.
I don't read Sandra Brown much but a book has to be more to the point of the story instead of dragging it out and making over 500 pages of unnecessary descriptions.

Five women have disappeared without a trace and local police chief Dutch Burton is doing all he can but he is distracted since his wife Lilly Martin has just divorced him. Upon clearing out their winter cabin just before a blizzard hits, Dutch leaves in frustration thinking Lilly is right behind him on the road. Unfortunately Lilly has fallen asleep and when she awakens, the storm has been going strong for hours and the roads are precarious, to say the least. When someone jumps out in front of her car, she hits the man and crashes into a tree, disabling the vehicle. Lilly helps the man back to the cabin to wait out the storm.
You know from the beginning who the serial kidnapper (killer?) is and when he gets hit by a car in the second by Lilly, you have roughly 360 pages of suspense. Is he going to rape her, torture her, kill her or all three? To make matters worse, Ben is a very attractive and charismatic man. Is Lilly going to fall in love before he does her in? And the best thing is that they aren't strangers. Lilly and Ben met on a kayaking adventure the previous summer and flirted up a storm before Lilly revealed that she was married. Ben was rather upset at being fooled. Hmmm. Is Lilly now stranded with no help in sight with a potential murderer?
Small town Cleary, NC is just like all small towns...everybody knows everybodies business, secrets run deep and when one is exposed, the entire town is effected. Cleary, NC is no different. Brother and sister, Marilou and William Ritt have always lived together though he treats her more like a wife (cook, clean, etc) than a sister. For some strange reason, she accepts this and puts up with it without a fuss. Hmmm, what's going on here? Wes Hamer and his son Scott are another strange pair. Wes is the high school football coach and he pushes Scott almost past his endurance and Scott at 19 allows this. Why? Wes also treats his wive like shit and she puts up with it without complaint. What is up with these people? And of course, let's not forget the FBI has arrived and steadily withhold evidence from the police. It sounds like a cluster mess in the making and believe me it is. This is one book that winds you up to let you fall into false conclusions again and again. Very well written with just the right amount of tension, suspense and anger. Excellent!

Enjoyable read, suspence, murder and a little romance.
I've read a few of Sandra Brown's books, and this was not one of my favorites. It really didn't seem to go anywhere or end up as I figured.
a real page turner....you will not want to put this one down...not the typical sandra brown romance...really great!!!!
This was a real thriller from the 1st page. I didn't want to put it down until I finished it. This edition is larger than the regular paperbacks with more pages, more white space, all for very comfortable reading (like a hardback). I wish more books were like this one.
Five women missing...a blizzard that closes down the town...more twists than the mountain road Lilly crashes on.
Kept me on the edge of my seat, did he or didn't he?
It was Riviting and somewhat unpridictable , all in all a good read!!

Excellent suspense along with some romance.Sandra Brown never disappoints!!
Set in Cleary, NC, a sleepy mountain town. The kind of place where criminal activity is non-existent. Four women have disappeared over the past two years. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.
A wonderful romantic suspense novel, you are never sure until the end of the book, who the bad guy really was. It definitely keeps you reading until you finish the book!
great read
Excellent, spell binding reading. The author has captured the trials and tribulations of living in a small town.
A good book! This one is not the usual serial killer novel. It keeps your attention.
I have read every book Sandra Brown has written. This is definitely one of her best. Lots of twists and keeps you guessing.
Couldn't put this one down!
Good, fast-paced thriller! The book condition described by another member does not pertain to the book I have posted!
As usual, Ms. Brown writes a story full of mystery, murder, romance, and intrigue. Keeps your interest to the last page.

A successful magazine editor is trapped in her remote cabin with a man believed to be a serial killer
A lot of twists and turns. Couldn't put it down. Read in one night.
Fast paced, edge-of-your-seat suspense abounds in this gripping new thriller from New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown, In which a successful magazine editor is trapped in her remote cabin with a man believed to be a serial killer.
There are people trapped in a cabin, snowstorms, illicit affairs, illegal medications and a lot of gossip. Very good book.
Lilly finds herself stranded in the mountain cabin her and her now ex-husband have just sold. Tierney, a man who is suspected to be a serial killer lands in her path (literally) and she struggles with her feelings and tries to get word out that he's there with her.
Pretty good read.
Pretty good read.
I'm not usually a Sandra Brown fan but this one really pulled me in and kept my attention. I picked it up one Saturday morning and had finished it by Sunday night. In the story, a woman is stranded at a remote mountain cabin during a blizzard with a man who may or may not be a murderer. The usual romantic overtones apply here as they do in all of Ms. Brown's novels but the suspense of this story was enough to keep my interest.
Sandra Brown at her best!
Another great Sandra Brown novel.

Awesome book. Sandra Brown at her best. This one will DEFINITLEY keep you guessing.
I debated on this book because it was about a serial killer. However, this story focuses on the many suspects and hidden secrets, and a couple stranded in a cabin. Is the man there the killer?Or is it one of the others.
Great!! :) :)
Keeps you guessing til the end. BIG surprise ending!
In another page turner by Sandra Brown, a suspect in a string of murders is trapped by a snow storm with the town sherriff's ex-wife. Although she comes to suspect him of the horrible crimes she cannot ignore the passion between them. Will help arrive in time?

Really good Sandra Brown. A women is caught in an snow storm with a man she met years ago, but wonders if he is a killer.
Creepy...really creepy, because you never really know who-done-it. Lilly Martin and a man she barely knows are stranded in a cabin up in the mountains during a blizzard. Their struggle is to keep from freezing to death, while the struggle going on down the mountain is to find the man responsible for the disappearance of the town's five missing women. Lust, jealousy, murder, and family conflict, with strong characters and excellent dialogue. This will catch you and keep you to the very end.
Excellent book!
Excellent! Anything else will spoil the story!
Suspenseful light reading for a rainy afternoon by the fire.
Kept you wondering who done it right up until the end! Some interesting twists.

A great read on a chilly winter night!!!
Very good mystery with twists and turns. Whodunnit? Not really sure all along! A good read.
Another good thriller from Sandra Brown.
I read the entire book but it took me a long time to "get into it". I have to admit the ending was a real surprise!
Another Great Sandra Brown story. I loved it!
Just OK. I skimmed most of the book. It just did not grab me. The romance part was cheesy and a bit silly. The mystery was not "chilling". I have read a few other of Sandra Brown's books and all of them have been 2.5 or 3 stars for me. I will most likely mark her off my to read list. Although I did give 4 stars to her "Rainwater".
It was an unusual story and quite good.
It was an unusual story and quite good.
first book of Browns I have read. I will surly get more
Great book, you don't want to put it down until you're finished listening to the entire audio book. It's a sleeper.
Great book. I read it in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. I was suprised to find out who done it!
modern day mystery-not one of her best but pleasant nonetheless. I was kept guessing until the end however!
Another great book by Sandra Brown. I couldn't figure out who was guilty until the last chapter! Great suspense!
This was a great read. Enough character development to get quite involved and enough suspense to enjy the read.
Excellent book! Full of mystery, suspense and a little romance thrown in. Great read, I highly recommend it.
Great read ... very suspensful...good ending
This was a gripping story....I could not put it down. I couldn't figure it out either...it was a good ending. I definitely recommend it.
Sandra Brown has a knack for keeping you in suspense while trying to figure out 'who done it'. Chill Factor will keep you guessing up to the end. Well written with a very believeable plot.
I'm not usually a big fan of secular "romance" novels. When I picked this one up, it didn't strike me as a romance. I thought of it more as a mystery. A mystery it was! A very good and intriguing plot. However, it was also a romance, with some sex scenes that I definitely could have done without. If you don't mind that, the mystery itself was good.
Never stop action, one of Ms. Brown's best.
An exciting, suspenseful, quick read!. First read of Sandra Brown and she is very good at thrillers!
This is a very good book. Fast paced, full of action and not too many characters to cause confusion. I have been reading Sandra Browns' books for years.
ONE FO THE BEST!!
Not her best efort. Very wordy and repititious. Any mystery fan would have all the players figured out prior to any action
"When a serial killer who leaves a blue ribbon at the site of his victims' last sightings appears in the peaceful town of Cleary, North Carolina, police chief Dutch Burton finds the case complicated by his ex-wife's disappearance during a blizzard." - worldcat.org
This is a great suspense!
This is a great suspense!
Another great Sandra Brown book!!!
This is a page turner! It has so many twists and turns. You think that the killer is one person and then you get a turn and you think it is someone else. At the end you have a surprise! Great book.
another engrossing read by Sandra...I was worried when I picked this book up...how was she going to tie all the missing women together...but I should have known...she is a master storyteller...her characters were not as in depth as some of her other books...and the clues for solving this one were widely scattered...but I was able to pinpoint the murderer before the book ended...
This was my first Sandra Brown thriller/mystery, I've read and love her romaces, but wow, where have I been??? this was so good for me, I was done with it before I was ready to be!!!
Another romantic thriller from Brown! Twists, turns, surprises aplenty!
Fantastic edge of ones seat thriller and who done it. Don't skip a page or you will be lost in the end. Intrigue and suspense abounds in this great scripted work by Sandra Brown
Good read-- keeps you guessing right up to the end.
Good, did not want to put it down!
Sandra Brown does it again! A tightly-paced romantic supsense story, CHILL FACTOR is the genre at its best. With suspects out the wazoo, you'll have a hard time figuring out who the bad guy really is--while you're watching the romance unfold between the hero and heroine.
I loved the fact that the very first chapter starts out with circumstantial evidence that will have you doubting Ben Tierney throughout the whole story. Is he the good guy, or just a really good con artist? The fact that the evidence continues to mount through each chapter leaves you feeling as mixed-up as the heroine of the story seems to be.
Sandra Brown has definitely penned a CHILLING winner--you don't want to miss this book!

The compelling characters, sexual tension, and stunning plot twists in Sandra Brown's Chill Factor combine to create a page-turner that will keep readers guessing until the very end.
It's a Sandra Brown book. That's all that needs to be said.
Sandra Brown was always one of my favorite authors. I'll never forget BREATH OF SCANDAL!
But CHILL FACTOR for me was a mediocre story about Lilly Martin being trapped in a snow storm with Ben Tierney, who's suspected of being a serial killer. I found it to be very predictable, with subplots and secondary characters thrown in that just never seemed to jive with the main plot.

Awesome read!! I've never read Sandra Brown before but after reading this book I want to read as many of her books as I can find. There were so many stories going on at once and she plays them all out so well. Highly reccomended to anyone looking for a good book that will keep you in suspense, and turning pages. I couldn't put it down.
I really liked this one. A mystery with some romance thrown in. A hard combo to beat. I did NOT guess the culprit & I'm usually right on top of that. Most of the characters were hard to like - but that's the point of a well written story, right?? Lilly & Tierney are very likable. enjoy.. this one is hard to put down.
Love Sandra! This one will keep you guessing.
Great book, a must read.
Cleary, North Carolina, is a sleepy mountain town-the kind of place where criminal activity is usually limited to parking violations. Not so, lately. Four women have disappeared from Cleary over the past two years. And there's always a blue ribbon left near the spot where each of the women was last seen. There are no bodies, no other clues, and no suspicion as to who their abductors might be. And now, another woman has disappeared without a trace.
It is to this backdrop that Lilly Martin returns to close the sale of her mountain cabin, marking the end of her turbulent eight-year marriage to Dutch Burton, Cleary's chief of police. Dutch's reluctance to let her go isn't Lilly's own obstacle. As she's trying to outrun a snowstorm, her car skids on the icy road and strikes a man who emerges from the woods on foot. She recognizes the man as Ben Tierney, whom she'd met the previous summer. They're forced to wait out the storm in the cabin, but as the hours of their confinement mount, Lilly begins to wonder if the greatest danger to her safety isn't the blizzard outside, but the mysterious man right beside her.
