I was really looking forward to reading this book and I was NOT disappointed. This is the follow up to her earlier book, âThe Sparrow.â While I sometimes got frustrated with that book I never did with this book. It goes more deeply into the characters, both human and âalienâ. The culture is much more prevalent that in the first book as well. I am very pleased with this book.

This book answered a lot of questions about the end of the first one, The Sparrow. Like what happened to everybody! Poor
Emilo, he suffered greatly and is finally finding some form of happiness on Earth though he is still very fragile emotionally. I won't spoil anymore for the next person but it caught my interest from the first and was a great read!!!

This sequel to "Sparrow" deals a lot more with the alien life on planet Rakhat. The story does jump back and forth to different time periods, and the names and relationships of some of the aliens can be difficult to follow. There is still considerable discussion of God and moral issues.
All in all, I enjoyed "Sparrow" a bit more, but this book is a reasonable sequel.
