The main character, Bryan Maegher, a young hapa writer (half-Hawaiian and half-Irish) recounts the various goings-on at Primo's. The regulars there are an interesting group with characters such as Waikane (the last full-blooded menehune on the island) and Goro (a Japanese obake -ghost- with a fondness for whisky). Add to this group the occasional appearance of others such as Madame Pele or secret Government agents on the hunt for a missing A-bomb and you have a lively mix. Chicken Skin is the Hawaiian equivalent of goosebumps, and there's chicken skin aplenty in this book. And plenty of laughs.« less
