After reading this book, I really can't remember why I liked this series so much and was so looking forward to reading this. It's like someone else wrote it. It's all violence, sex, violence and more...it's not funny even where it's supposed to be; there is no comparison that I could find with the Stephanie Plum characters...these come off pathetic and trying too hard to be the Plum characters. Probably won't bother getting the next in the series. This one really was a bomb for me.
Disappointed in the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the previous Konrath books. Instead of being funny with witty verbal interactions, the majority of Cherry Bomb's interactions are trite and silly. The story line was seeped with violence and ridiculous events. Author wrote five excellent books and one "bomb." Perhaps the next will return to a great story?
I was determined to stick it out but it is just too drawn out and gets tiresome. A cop wouldn't do the things that go on in this book and gets on the silly side and I can't imagine a serial killer being as stupid sounding as this one.
Reeling from the death of a loved one at Alex's hand, Jack is caught in a web of hunting Alex down before she kills everyone Jack loves. Dangerous cat and mouse game with McGlade & Phin backing her up, Jack must make a life or death decision. Thrilling page turner with Jack matching wits with psycho Alex, humor from McGlade and his new pet, and Phin's friendship all round out an excellent installment of this series.
