I didn't love this book. I felt no connection to the time period or the characters. This didn't fill my hope that I would feel what it was like to be involved in the HUAC trials. I thought the characters were shallow.

It took the author 25 years to write this book and either she should have abandoned it or spent a few more years working on the characters.
