Cute 1st in a series. It is strictly emails going back and forth with 2 people. There are a few segments where there is a chat room going on. This is a great book for a short 1-2 hour plane ride. It is as if you are spying on somebody through their email. The next 2 in the series are "Connect" and "Crash".

Book 1 of Nan McCarthy's three-book cyberseries about a "very modern love story," Chat draws you into the electronic correspondence between a couple who has just met online. As you read their exchanges, you watch their relationship develop and get to know them as they get to know each other... a quick and thrilling read!

Bev and Max meet online and become friends through emails. Bev is married and does not provide personal info omline other than general interest and location. Max is flirtatious but not rude or perverted (unless said jokingly). Thier friendship continues over a couple of months with emails consisting of a few paragraphs or just a line. The twist happens in one online chat session. You see it coming but want to read on to see how it plays out.

This was my first "cyber novel". I liked the quick easy reading and the characters voices felt even more real because of the email format. Something I am sure we can all relate to is exchanging emails with a stranger and become friends, or not.

This book was not very good. Nothing happened at all. It was a quick read, but it really went nowhere. If you are looking for a good book written in email format like this I would recommend "The Boy Next Door" instead of this book. It is a much better read.
