I have read many Iris Johansen books, including the Eve series. I really like most of them but this one was just ok. It seemed like there was a lot of "filler" in the book. The characters are very interesting and the last pages are worth reading but I don't think it was one of her best.
This was my first Johansen....read this one..have Eve, Quinn, and Bonnie lined up on my TBR pile...not sure if I even want to. There was so much small talk and the writing was just ...well it just wasn't good at all. It took me forever to get through it. My Mom (who knows how fast I go through a book) kept asking "you're not finished with that book yet?" ...like after a week. As soon as I finished went to the back and read the first chapter of Eve (which is included in my version of the paperback)...then picked up the book (Eve) and read the 2nd chapter........went strait from there to my shelf and picked up a Harlan Coben.......end of story.

This is a great book!! Leads straight into the Eve, Quinn, & Bonnie trilogy. The book starts a little slow but once you get all the background information in the first part of the book, the last part of the book flies by and when it ends you're ready to read the next one that minute!! Very good book.
