This is the Michael Bennett entry in the fast-paced Bookshots novellas by Patterson and his team of writers. And it was very fast-paced at only 115 pages! I would have read this in one sitting but Christmas activities got in the way. Basically the story starts out with a man falling from a Manhattan hotel. But was it a suicide or was he pushed? Bennett is on the case but when he finds out the victim is using a false identity and has a wad of cash in his possession, he rules out suicide rather quickly. Then a fingerprint match comes through identifying the victim as an Air Force pilot who had supposedly died years earlier in a plane crash in Iraq. (A news article about the incident states that the pilot lived in Liberty, Utah and went to Weber High School. I was very surprised to read this because I actually went to Weber High which is located about 2 miles from where I currently live!) Anyway, Bennett ends up travelling to DC to try to find out more about the victim and then gets in a near life and death situation as he tries to determine what exactly happened.

Overall, I thought this was a good thriller in the Bookshots series. A fast and entertaining read.

This is a very short story by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge, otherwise known as a BookShort. At approximately 115 pages, it's a fast read.

For the fans of the Michael Bennett series, you will totally enjoy this one. No need for a back story on the characters.

A man is thrown off the top of a very high roof. Bennett is suspicious that this was not a suicide, but who is this guy> No wallet, no phone, no ID.

When the autopsy is done, he is found with a paper in his stomach with a bunch of numbers written on it. That's all ... well, except for his fingerprints. They belong to a military man who had died several years earlier.

This is classic James Patterson and Michael Bennett. Lots of action, mostly non-stop. Great characters and a terrific story line.

Because I am a huge fan of the Michael Bennett books, I will read anything and everything about this fabulous character. For those of you who have not read about Bennett, start at the beginning of the series ... you will not regret it!

This was my second BookShot novel; just not a fan. These books are too short on stpry and really lacking in substance.
