"He is a runaway prince stalked by a dangerous past. She is a shy, young innocent swept boldly into his daring gambit. Together, they will embark upon an adventure that will prove fairy tales do come true..." (from the back of the book)
The main character of this historical romance, Samantha, limps because of an injury she suffered when a runaway carriage ran her over as a child. She feels terribly self concious and 'damaged' by her disability, which gives her character a depth that makes the book much more intriguing than the usual 'innocent, naive girl swoons for dashing young man' story. The prince, Rudolf, sees past her limp and helps her to learn to love herself for who she is rather than what she cannot do. There's lots of intrigue and mystery, foreign language and culture, an abduction, a seduction, and lots of humor as well. A great read!
