This was an interesting story, but I didn't love it. I wanted to keep reading to figure out the mystery but I didn't really like many of the characters. A couple of the plot lines just die out which was a little annoying. Not a bad book though.

hillbilly in the south, at it's most twisted best!
Very good story, read it over the weekend
A great book about the South in the 1960's. Anyone who enjoys book from this time period will like this book.
Strange story but really cool book ! It's a must read
A fascinating, unique southern tale!
Another excellent book from Haynes. She made the character's pain seem so real. The characters also worked very well together in bringing out each others weaknesses and strong points.
A compelling Southern gothic. Wonderful writing, but difficult to follow. Her "Mother of Pearl" was much better, in my opinion.
Loved it! Ms Haynes keeps the story moving, with lots of twists & good humor.
