I just bought this book from half.com. just couldn't wait to read it. If you are on the waiting list go buy it. It's worth every penny. in fact I read half the book last night and will finish it up tonight. Its a Keeper for my bookshelf.

This book is a wonderfully truthful account of what happens to bodies after death. The author gives the reader an unflinching view of the funeral business, touching on burials, cremation, embalming, etc. A great read!

If you enjoy morbidity and have a natural curiosity for what happens after we die, then you'll love this book. It's a very easy to read, interesting, sometimes humorous book of explanations, anecdotes and observations of all things regarding death. It's well written and although it is graphic, it's not unbearable to read. On the contrary, I found it quite fascinating and finished it in 2 days. Very interesting!

This book goes into detail about what they do to corpses after death and stories behind all things related to dying really- even the not so nice.

LOVED this book! It was quite surprisiing tho! The first seciton was like reading an epissode of CSI, and then the middle section was quite enjoyable about cemetery rites, rituals and ceremonies. The third secions is the one I have trouble with, there is one small part of it where she discusses the horrible funeral homes and funeral directors there are, and some of the things she talks about, well YUCK.

An interesting book but with an unpleasant surprise at the end: the author has included a chapter on necrophilia that's pretty explicit.

Very interesting overview of many aspects of death and related topics. Having worked as a funeral director myself I found a couple stories to simply be false which leads me to wonder about the validity of other information that seems a little over-the-top. Overall, a good read. Take it all with a grain of salt :)

This book is an extremely interesting perspective on "the life of a corpse after death". Very well-written and enjoyable and contains answers to many of the questions about what happens after death. I wouldn't call this a comprehensive view of the "death industry", rather, more of an overview of all/most aspects. I recommend this!
