I had heard great things about this series, and I was not disappointed. Very well written, I liked the characters a great deal, and it was a well written mystery. I wasn't sure until almost the end who did it, and yet there were still a few twists I hadn't counted on! Also included some great sounding recipes I'm tempted to try. I'm excited to continue the series and read more from this author.

After hearing a lot of friends talk about this author, I decided to get to the pile and start in on this series. The author mixes humor into the mystery, along with recipes, as the main character is a caterer. I liked it enough that I've just started the second book in the series.

This is my first venture into reading Diane Mott Davidson and I was pretty pleased overall. The plot was decent, somewhat complicated and kept me intrigued until the end. The main characters are likeable, but the relationship between Goldy and Office Schultz was a bit lackluster and predicatable. A good novel overall though so I will definitely be reading the others in the series.

One of the first of the series; Goldie is a caterer in a small Colorado town. Fresh from an abusive marriage, dealing with the changes for herself, and her teenage son, and the death that touches her family.
Having read several others first, it was interesting to read this one and see the differences, the style changes that came between this first in the series and the ones to follow. All good!

I enjoyed this book. I am going to read the rest of the series. Goldy Bear is a Caterer in Colorado. She is divorced from her husband, who she refers to as "the Jerk". It was an abusive relationship, and they both still live in the same town. This first book in the series centers around the apparent suicide of Goldy's 11 year old son's teacher. Unlike some cozy mysteries, I did not figure out "whodunit" until near the end of the book.

An easy read, light mystery, interesting characters, delicious recipes. Davidson's books have it all. This is the first in the series, telling how Goldilock's Catering got started and the problems Goldy faces from a vindictive ex-husband, a new man in her life [who just happens to be investigating her and her business , he's the local sheriff], and trying to raise her son, Arch, without much help from "The Jerk", [her ex]. It's funny and sweet and heart-warming.

Love this series by D.M.D. The main character is Goldy Schultz, a caterer and these mysteries are in a variety of settings, giving the reader an education about these settings and cooking, plus there are a bunch of menus and recipies you might appreciate if cooking is your thing. The books are easy to read and not so gripping they can't be put down and make for perfect bedtime reading.
This is the first book in a fun and engaging series. I have heard such books are called "cozy" and I would agree with that. What I like the most about Davidson's book is that you don't really figure out the "who done it" until the very end. Worthwhile light reading

Catering the wake of her son's favorite teacher is not Goldy's idea of fun. Particularly when her former Father -in- law passes out, nearly felled by a dose of rat poison. Detective Tom Schultz is forced to shut down her business. Goldy can't cater so she goes in search of the person that put poison in the coffee.

Didn't much care for the main character. She seemed to co-dependent with her violent ex and it seemed to flow into her relationship with her son. There were places when I just wanted to smack her for being such a doormat.

Another Goldy Bear catering mystery-- her ex-father-in-law, Fritz Korman is struck down and Goldy is accused of poisoning him. THe Department of Health has impounded her left-overs, her ex-husband is telling everyone she is guilty..Goldy has to find the answers for herself!
Loved this first book in the series. I've actually read of few from later on in the series and decided I should start at the beginning. I love the combination of cooking, mystery, and a little romance that this author throws together.

I read this cozy mystery after reading a couple other of Goldy Schulz. It is interesting and has many characters, death, injury, and suspense. I had to keep reading the last 30 pages as it zigzagged a lot!

A little plodding at times, but an interesting twist for an ending
the first of the series.... a quick read and a surprise ending.
This book was givine to me as a gift and to be honest it is not anywhere near the type of book I normally read. But as non descriminating reader...I read it anyway. It was wonderfull and I will absolutely finish reading the rest of the series. I thought the entire story was going to be about cooking (which i hate) but to my suprprise it was a great mystery with the main character being a caterer. I fell in love with the characters and found the story very easy to follow and overall a wonderful read.
This book was enjoyable enough to start reading more books from the series.
Our book club decided this would be a good summer read after a winter full of heavy books. "Catering to Nobody" fit the bill perfectly. It's entertaining and amusing with enough suspense to make you want to know what happens next. The recipes included in Mott's books are a lot of fun. I enjoyed it enough to pick up other books in the series and have enjoyed those, too.
An excellent recipe combining 5 star cuisine and murder with a dash of humor and sarcasm. I loved this book.

This is the first book in the caterer Goldy mystery series. Very enjoyable! This version has 4 extra recipes and an interesting introduction by the author. The gingersnap cookies were a big hit in my house and the toffee is as terrific as advertised!

The first in a series of catering mysteries. Catering a wake is not Goldy's idea of fun, Yet the Colorado caterer throws herself into preparing a savory feats including Poached Salmon and Strawberry Shortcake Buffet designed to sooth forty mourners. Recipes included. Fun read.

Goldy is the typical nosy neighbor/caterer that wants to know everything about everybody. You'll find yourself laughing out loud in places and then sad as Goldy's family problems are sensitively portrayed. Goldy gets right in the middle of a murder investigation that nobody wants her involved in and whips up some pretty savory dishes at the same time. Good book.

Goldy can't cater without a kitche, so she'll just have to find the rat who poisoned the coffee. Everyone - from Goldy's ex-husband's other ex-wife to her eleven year old son Arch - seems to know more than Goldy does. But as she begins following the recipe to its logical conclusion, Goldy discovers that some very unsavory ingredients are flavoring the neighborhood and poisoning her own family with the bitter taste of deceit and revenge.
