The Catechism draws on the Bible, the Mass, the sacraments, Church tradition and teaching, and the lives of the saints. It comes with a complete index, footnotes, and cross-references for a fuller understanding of every subject. Using the tradition of explaining what the Church believes {the Creed}, what she celebrates {the Sacraments}, what she lives {the Commandments}, and what she prays {the Lord's Prayer}, the Catechism offers challenges for believers and answers for all those interested in learning about the mystery of the Catholic faith.

Have you ever wondered why Catholics believe certain things? Are you wondering when certain stances and policies changed within the Church? All of these questions are answered within this book, and is an absolute necessity in any Catholic household, especially if one has children. It is important to be able to explain the beliefs to others who may ask, but most especially ones children.
If you have close Catholic friends or are considering marrying a devote Catholic (or one whose family is devote) this book can help you understand what's going on.

This is by far the best, most authentic, easy to read book on the Catholic Catechism. I used it/read it during a course I took. I've read others also, but this is the best! It's usually used more as a reference book, and every Catholic household ought to own one.
so far, I just use it as a reference. It is very enlightening
The Catechism of the Catholic Church is one of the most well-written and highly indexed books I have ever read. If used besides the Bible, early writers of the Church, Encyclicals, etc. it provides a depth to our Faith that is beyond imaging. The Holy Spirit is obviously the writer and it is a gift to all that read it!
book is in perfect, brand new condition.
I am not Catholic. However, if you want to understand(?) the dogma of the 'church' then read away. Other wise well... paperweight? Canary-liner? Not to be read for enjoyment unless you have someone to throughly rap your knuckles with a ruler.
