While I enjoyed reading this series, especially "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire", I was very disappointed in the Audio Book. While Carolyn McCormick is very polished and has excellect enunciation, I don't find her style to be fitting the content. I don't feel the emotions I felt when reading the book or the essence of the characters. If you want a well-read audio book, this qualifies, but it doesn't capture the emotion of Katniss (who is representative of "fire") or her spunk.

I was able to read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. WONDERFUL! The plot develops and there is more insight into some of the character's behavior. The theme is developed a bit more also. I can't say more than this until after the books comes out. If you liked Hunger Games you will love this one too.

Really fascinating follow-up to The Hunger Games. The quarter quell adds a different angle to the storyline. Parts of it are slower than the first book, but the ending is quite dramatic and leads clearly into the next book of the series.

I know the Hunger Games series was written for a young adult audience. I'm way beyond that. However, I'd have to say listening to "Hunger Games", then "Catching Fire", I was completely enthralled, not only with Suzanne Collins story telling skills, but with the enchanting and totally engaging voice of Caroline McCormick. The "Hunger Games" series is a must listen for any audio book fan. I've listened to hundreds of books, and "Catching Fire" rates up there in my top 5. Wonderful and memorable, this reading will stick with you for a long time.
