When Spring comes to Moose County, Jim expects a peaceful time, but when birds start singing in becomes impossible. Expecially when Koko joins in. It seems that this spring, a cat\'s fancy may turn to crime solving.
another crazy cat caper!!

As always, a satisfying light read. There were a couple of continuity glitches in the book, but probably no one but I would notice them and they certainly did not take from the story.

An early Spring brings out birds & murder in Pickax.
You don't have to like cats to enjoy this book. These cat mystery books are the best.

I feel these books are best enjoyed in the order they were written. I believe this is number 20. The series is not to be missed if you like mysteries, or cats.

It is May, following the earliest spring on record in Moose County, Qwill and his Siamese cats, Koko & Yum Yum, embark on another series of adventures, involving the opening of Pickaxe's new art center, the sale of land by a widow and her death shortly afterward, the underhanded activities of a town councilman, and the usual Pickaxe characters and their activities. As usual. it's Qwill and Koko who unravel the mystery and solve the various problems.

When I first started reading this series almost 25 years ago I really liked the books. Now after all this time, the Cat Who books just seem repetitive with so many old and new characters being introduced it seems like the largest part of the story. That said, this book was a quick read and still somewhat enjoyable.

As early spring comes to Moose county, Jim Qwilleran is looking forward to the peaceful beauty of nature's rebirth. What he gets instead is a chorus of noisy birds that constantly wakes him from a sound sleep...especially when Koko insists on joining in with his own feline version of birdcalling. But soon Qwill is wondering whether Koko is trying so say more than just "tweet tweet"...because a series of strange events--starting with an act of vandalism and culminating in a mysterious chain of death and disappearance--has Pickax in a similar uproar. It seems that this spring, a cat's fancy may turn to crime solving...

Interesting book. Storyline alright - parts are confusing in the references, if you do not understand the references the author makes than you loose parts of the storyline. Overall book very level. Sections that should be climatic are only mildly so kept expecting more drama. Never happened.
