When I first began reading this book I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the book did not reach my expectations. The writer spends an unnecessary amount of time explaining the most minute details to the point of exhaustion. The reader does not need every detail explained, sometimes it is better to let the reader form their own perception. The three days it took me to complete this book felt like a life-time. I found the hero reserved and boring while the heroine comes off as self absorbed and annoying.

I liked this book, I love the series, but this one was just ok. I would have thought Trevan's story would have been very sensual and sexy, I did not feel this one hit my expectations. Still love hearing about all the other characters. I just started Rydans book and its already better, I do love the idea of the 2 stories happening at the same time though. I loved all the other books too, just Trevans is so far, my least favorite.

I only gave this book 3 stars. Reason being i "disliked" the writing. I LOVE the concept of the story, its interesting. Unfortunately the thing that is NOT good for is the writing. There are plenty of pointless conversations that happen in the book, that are like..."What the hell?" because it seriously is neither interesting or leads to anything. And its not very planned out very well, the book doesn't FLOW! thats the word i'm looking for. It does NOT flow...its not a story that captivates me from start to beginning and gets the the point where its a chore to read because some of the passages in the book have to be re-read because they sometimes make no sense at all. Ms. Johnson came up with a GREAT concept unfortunately her writing style sucks and lacks consistency. I wasn't really interested as the book got on and its probably has 75% to do with what is going on AROUND the couple than the couple themselves. Conversations are boring, uninteresting, lacking and stiff (being that they don't sound REAL)...I'm going to read the series to the end but i lost REAL interest as i continued reading and the writing continued to be bad. I love the cover of the book though and the PLOT line and concept of the series, totally amazing...just the writing of the book that i hate. It was...frustrating not to understand.

This was a very enjoyable book in the series. Not only did it deal with the next brother and his bride-to-be butit developed Kelly's character a bit more as well as Nightfall. Looking forward to the twin sister's view of the same time frame.

Ok, having this character show up mainly as a house cat was smart in that the female love interest talks to him not knowing that he's the cat. However, while the other brothers in the family have more "manly" abilities, mainly becoming a house cat is not as exciting as becoming a wolf or having a magical voice. The sex scenes are worth reading the whole series, though!

Trevan Amara's love story is very enjoyable to read. I especially like the play between Kelly and Amara.

If you believe unconditional love then Johnson writes for you. The Sons of Destiny series about 8 brothers (all sets of twins) and the women they marry. This story is about the 6th brother, and doesn't carry much of an interesting story.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the whole series: Sons of Destiny. Jean Johnson exhibits her creativity and talent with this set of books.

I loved the story of Amara and her sister and their perilous sea journey to Nightfall. This was a fun book in the series, Trevan getting to know Amara was a hit.

I'll be sorry when I've finished the Mage and have to say goodbye to the characters in the series.
