Another excellent book in the series. Enjoyed watching Dixie coming a bit more out her shell. Enough twists and turns to keep me interested-thought I had it figured out but then another twist.Has Dixie come to a resolution about Ethan Crane and Guidry?

Clement makes you feel the heat, the fear and ask the same questions as Dixie does. If you love animals and wonder why people do the things they do, you will love this series of "Cat sitters" books.

Her writing is always good. She is very descriptive of her enviorment and the people in it. I can always picture the sunsets and greenery. She does a great job. Not one of her best stories but still worth reading. I had figured out who the killer was by page 107. Still had a little under 200 pages before she caught up. I thought I knew something was fishy by page 42 and was 100% sure I knew exactly where the missing item would be found by page 152. Disappointed she did not add more of her quirky animal antics to the story.

Another fine entry in this excellent series. I like animals in their place, but reallly don't like books where the cats or dogs take on an unreal importance. Ms. Clement avoids that trap. Dixie Hemingway is a fully realized human being with good values and instincts. It's a pleasure to see the world through her eyes. The story? It's a good one. Clues abound. I don't usually worry about figuring out who done it ahead of the big reveal, but I had a few ideas as it went along. I'll be reading on in the series, for sure.
