A couple of suprising plot twists really caught me off guard which is unusual. A little hard to identify with some of the characters but over all the book kept me interested and entertained and isn't that the point?

Really enjoyed this book, you never know what will happen until the very end and it always leaves you with a lead in into the next book which in this case is Pop Goes the Weasel. As an old, Mickey Spillane/Mike Hammer reader of the 50's & 60's, it was good to read thrilling, cliff-hanger, mysteries again. Alex Cross like Mike Hammer is a no nonsense detective doing whatever it takes to get the bad guys.

I liked this book so much, I hated to see it end. Very good storyline, and must say it keeps you guessing right up to the end. Need to read the rest of this series. And hope for more after that.

As usual, this was a good page-turner from Patterson. This is one of the earlier ALEX CROSS novels that I had not read and I have to say that to me these earlier books are better written than some of the later ones. In this one, Gary Soneji returns (the bad guy from Along Came a Spider) and he is out to get Cross and his family. In addition to Soneji, another even worse serial killer is involved in the story, Mr. Smith, who dissects his victims and leaves them for the police and FBI. There are some good twists in this story and overall I would recommend it.
