Midnight Louie and Temple Barr are a great pair! This series is fast moving and full of action. Louie narrates his own chapters and is very educated (for a cat). Temple is always getting into troubling situations and Louie often comes to her rescue. The peripheral characters are all fun and believable.
Excellent Midnight Louie mystery and one of the funniest of the series so far. Temple is having man trouble when her missing boyfriend Max the magician makes a sudden reappearance in her life. Now she has to start re-evaluating what he means to her and also what her sexy upstairs neighbor Matt means to her. She decides she just needs to get away for a little bit and ends up at the Crystal Phoenix hotel and casino with her landlady for a romance authors/writers convention. When she is there she runs into her long lost aunt and also murder! One of the cover hunks suddenly drops dead during an audition and Temple just happens to know him. Now her and her Sam Spade cat have another mystery on their hands.
I love a cat with attitude, and more smarts than the average human! If you're a "cat person" you'll probably love Midnight Louie, too!! Temple Barr and the mysteries are good, too!
(From back cover) Midnight Louie is back! ...along with the human the black tomcat condescends to spend his days with: Temple Barr, a redheaded publicist whose love for expensive shoes is matched only by her affinity for trouble.
This time trouble shows up on her doorstep, in the form of a boyfriend previously gone missing...during a murder investigation. No fool she, Temple decides it's time for a break. A romance writers' convention - complete with a male-model Incredible Hunk pageant - sounds like just what the doctor ordered.
Unfortunately, a pair of dazzling Cinderella shoes goes missing, one of the would-be Fabios ends up dead, and Temple's investigations into the matters get more complicated - and more dangerous - than she planned.
Luckily, there's a smart cat and a smart-mouthed cat prowling around ...
