Vineyard wedding bells for JW and his bride on Martha's Vineyard. Life never goes without a murder for JW and his bride and this is no exception. Fun to read and I know the Vineyard so it's extra fun for me.

A nice little mystery, especially is you are fond of the Vineyard. Ex-cop fisherman JW is getting married to Zee soon. However, Zee just found $100,000 in her bank account. And JW wants to know why.

Ex-cop J.W. Jackson, series sleuth and island resident, finds the body of a college girl-dead of water hemlock poisoning-in his driveway. Her death may have something to do with an elusive $100,000 that shows up in the bank account of Jackson's girlfriend-who has finally agreed to marry him.

From book cover:

Vineyard wedding bells are about to chime for ex-Boston cop-turned-island-fisherman J. W. Jackson and his lady Zee Madieras. And Zee's Automatic Teller tells them a rather substantial "present" has been deposited in the bride-to-be's account; one hundred thousand unexplained dollars.

The bank screams, "computer glitch"! And sure enough two days later, the windfall has flown. but, conincidentally, the college student lying dead in J. W.'s drive -- a young woman done in by a dose of locally grown poison -- recently withdrew a hundred grand from her own account. And now before exchanging vows with his love, J. W. must first match wits with a murderer who may be gearing up to kill again.

One of a series of Martha's Vineyard mysteries. Kind of a far-fetched scheme, but still quite well developed. Interesting characters, fun - keeps you guessing 'til the end!

Another good story on Martha's Vineyard of fishing and sleuthing. Some interesting fish cookings too as well as old and new characters. A quick and exciting read.

While the crimes and detective work are interesting, I do get a bit tired with the beer reviews. This is interesting, as I am a beer drinker too, just not so much as J.W. He needs to back off a bit with the drinking or Zee's going to find herself a widow at a somewhat early age.

Plus, Craig has his hero claim different beers are the "best beer in America" in different novels. So, who is he pandering to? And doesn't his hero eat anything but bluefish and clams?
