This would've been a great read if I found the main character likable at all. But I thought he was an uptight, fusty pain in the rear who had a tendency for being pompous. That alone made this a less than enjoyable read for me. Too bad as I loved the idea of a large-animal vet being the focus of a mystery series very much.

It was the first in the series. I have thesecond, but have not read it yet. It was interesting, but I like the hemlock falls series better. I think, if you really loved horses and horse shows, this would have more appeal.

Fun cozy mystery about an older large animal veterinarian. Quite knowledgable about large animals and horses, except for the when mare foals -- oops! Definitely recommmend!

I love vet mysteries and went to college in upstate NY, so this was a fun read for me.

I really enjoyed this first book in the new series by Claudia Bishop. Looking forward to more.
