I am really loving Allison Brennan's foray into paranormal romance!

This second in the series (following Original Sin) finds Rafe, Moira, and team up against the demon Lust. When the coroner's office reports strange marks on a handful of bodies in the Los Angeles morgue, Sheriff Skye McPherson travels to the City of Angels with Moira on hand to check them out. Sure that the mark is that of another of the newly released Seven Deadly Sins, Moira and Rafe stay behind to try and track the demon and hopefully trap it. As the demon wreaks havoc on the city, though, Anthony is sent to Venice where he makes some startling discoveries about the coming battle.

As with Original Sin, Brennan combines police procedural with dark paranormal elements and romance to bring urban fantasy and paranormal romance fans a satisfying and original read.

I love Allison Brennan and have been reading her books for some time! This book was no exception! This series is a bit different than her other series which have been more along the lines of thriller romance instead of paranormal romance. However, Brennan has made the switch magnificently! This is the second book in the Seven Deadly Sins series and I definitely recommend that the reader read the first book in the series before reading this one.

In this book Rafe and Moira battle the demon Lust, and along the way the encounter other twists a turns to the plot as well. The relationship between Rafe and Moira really begins to deepen in this book, and the relationships with the other characters begin to develop as well. The main characters also begin to realize Moira's true purpose to ending the fight against the evil book that holds the key to releasing the seven deadly sins. This brings about many fears and doubts between Moira and Rafe, which only makes the characters more relatable.

I really, REALLY love this story! I can't wait for the next book to see where it leads! Great book!

Brennan's Quinn & Costa series is on my keeper shelf, so I thought I'd try this title from her backlist. It did not work for me, perhaps because is is book 2 in a series, perhaps because it was trying to be too many genres at once. It needed a lot of world building to explain how the demons and witches interacted, so there was not as much room for the thriller, mystery, and romance elements. I enjoy found family stories but this one seemed off - some of her teammates seem to think she is going to have to die to save the world. I'll keep reading Brennan's new mysteries but won't be looking for the other books in this series.

I couldn't finish this, it is just about demons and I'm just not into that kind of thing, demons, possession, sex, witches, etc. just not my thing, probably won't finish this series.
