This book is in my top 10 best books I have ever read. I am not a big Nora Roberts fan I'm sorry to say and I have been upset that I have not liked any of her other books as much as I have loved this one. I want to buy this in hard cover one day so I always have it. I read it at least once a year! Tucker is always waiting for me. lol

I thought I knew "who done it" several different times throughout the novel but then had to change my mind. Even though it's an older book of Nora Roberts, it's still a great read.

Loved this book! Nora gets the atmosphere in a small southern town exactly right - and of course, the imagery is perfect, as always. I swear, the humidity rose off the page to frizz my hair! (OK, that could've also been because I didn't use any conditioner...) You have a murderer (what else?) on the loose, a concert violinist who settles into her grandmother's old house - partly to get away from her control freak mother; and a son of the local owns-half-the-town, been-there-forever family who is not only supremely hot, but also the number-one suspect (according to the FBI agent brought in from out of town to help solve the murders - and who also just happens to have the hots for our lovely violinist). Of course, it's all wrapped up in a great love story, with a twist at the end. Fabulous!

Raunchy, raunchy, raunchy. Too many characters with similar names; not enough character development in even the main characters. I couldn't read past chapter 3. It was just too much disgusting sex, bad talk, and no character development. I normally like Nora Roberts, but not this one.

I love Nora Roberts books. Carnal Innocence has a richer story than some of her other romances. An excellent read.

This was a good book; I liked the mystery and intrigue that tied the story together. Not as good as some of her newer work (this was originally released in 1991) but I still enjoyed it very much. Caro and Tucker were well developed and multi-layered, complex even. I would have liked to see some actual resolution with Caroline's mother/family/Luis. A little too much foreshadowing regarding "who done it" but there was enough possible twist that you had to stick with it until the very end.

Great story. Love story with a murder subplot... or is it the other way around? You get to decide. Well written. Well plotted. Enjoy. I know I did.

This was my first 'suspense' novel that I read by Nora Roberts...I didn't know she had in her! Thought she was all about romance...(this was of course, years ago)...but I'd recommend this novel...HIGHLY!!!

This is a little darker than most Nora Roberts books. It's supposed to be romantic suspense and I guess it is but boy was it brutal.

A serial killer is running rampant in Innocence, Mississippi. Killing young women who have been intimate with Tucker Longstreet, who is a bit of a ladies man...well maybe more than a bit. When Caroline Waverly moves to town, Tucker is smitten, which is nothing new for him. However, Caroline is just getting over a breakup and doesn't want to even think about men. The book focuses more on the doings of the townspeople than on Caroline and Tucker but he romances her in a kind of courtly way. There's some flame between them but he basically just wears Caroline down with his persistence.

The mystery is interesting and there are many possible suspects so you're kept guessing. Burns, the FBI guy, is a real prick to Tucker and his family and hasn't a clue who the culprit really is.

I liked this book but it wasn't what I was expecting so the brutal nature of the killings came as a surprise.

I enjoyed the dialogue with Tucker and Caroline, and the suspense of finding out who was the killer was good. Nora Roberts always has such good dialogue.

Surprise! Nora Roberts can write! This early-90s offering soft-pedals the romance and concentrates on thriller elements as women in a small Southern town start turning up dead. I had a suspicion as to who the real killer was -- obviously not the hunky hero -- but Roberts peoples the story with enough engaging characters to keep the pages turning. My only gripe is that the minor characters were hard to keep straight -- Earleen and Myrleen and Darleen, and Bobby T and Billy Lee give us a break, Nora!

I truly do enjoy Nora Roberts books, however this one is more like her JD Robb releases.

Burned out by a whirlwind career, world-famous concert violinist Caroline Waverly goes home to Innocence, a little Southern town she hasn't seen since childhood. The peace she's looking for is hard to find, between a knife-wielding serial killer and charming skirt-chaser Tucker Longstreet--and they may just turn out to be one and the same.
