Pretty good story of academic crime and a cop who's new on the job, feeling a little lost.

A very good fast reading mystery.

Easy to read, but I found it hard to get interested in it and gave up about 40 pages in. Characters seemed like they were going through the paces.

From back of book:

Steeped in prominence and tradition, Kingsford University offer academic excellence for those fortunate enough to be accepted into its hallowed halls. Unfortunately, one among them is a killer.

Art professor Hilda Robertson is stabbed to death in a locked carrel in the high-security university library. Detective Philip Constanza suspects that only someone in the tightly knit campus community could have plotted, schemed and ultimately committed the crime.

A retired professor of English is the next victim, a desperate act by an increasingly desperate killer, one that leads the Kingsford police to a murderer whose motive is most chillingly academic.
